Clinic Director & Principle Bodyworker
Laura founded The Therapy Barn in 2019, having spent several years working as an independant therapist after qualifying with the LSSM in Soft Tissue Therapy & Sports Massage.
Laura has always been an avid sportswoman, with a continued love of fitness, horses and all things outdoors to this day. It was her love of horses, however, that led her to her career in Soft Tissue Therapy - having shadowed a fellow equine and human therapist for work experience whilst undertaking her A-Levels, she quickly fell in love with the benefits she saw Soft Tissue Therapy bring; both in the equine, and 'normal' world, and welcomed the opportunity to persue her studies in this specialism.
Over the years Laura has developed a signature treatment method that considers finding and treating the root cause of any pain or injury - rather than just treating where the immediate symptom presents. This refined and unique approach to treatment has produced many great successes in treating hundreds of clients from a complete array of backgrounds.
Within her treatments, Laura uses a huge range of modalities including; soft tissue massage, soft tissue release (STR), neuromuscular technique (NMT), myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, muscle energy technique (MET) along with exercise prescription, kinesiotape, assisted stretching and expert advice.
Day to day, when not in clinic, you'll find Laura out treating horses or enjoying time in the countryside with her partner and their two dogs.
